For Fall/Winter 2009 runway fashion, there was an abundance of colors, textures, fabrics, and cuts of beautiful clothing. I have chosen a few of the prominent looks of the Fall/Winter 2009 runway trends you can crossover into your daily wardrobe. Many of them, you will be able to pull from the archives and some will inspire & require you to hit the stores (it IS a shoppers market so go for it!).
Grey Color Combinations
This color was seen in several collections including Giorgio Armani. It gave the normal monotone look the mixture needed to jazz it up but still offer a sleek and chic fall look.
Volume!!
Volume was everywhere: Necklines, skirts, dresses, pants. I love the combination of a voluminous skirt with a fitted jacket as seen in the Ballenciaga Fall 2009 Ready to Wear collection.
Fur
Fur was seen all over the runways including in the fall collections of Hermes and Fendi. Rock a fur trim (or Faux Fur) coat, skirt, or cuffs to turn this runway look into everyday glamour.
Mini Dresses/Short Skirts
If you’ve got a pair of legs, this will be the fall/winter to show them. Add leggings or tights and a pair of ankle boots or thigh high boots (as seen below).
Shoe & Accessory Trends
Thigh High Boots (as seen above)
This type of boot is a fine line between call girl and fashion goddess. Please no patent leather ladies! Suede or a soft leather are both lovely options for this type of boot. Pair it with a short dress/skirt/shorts and tights or a pair of skinny jeans. I am partial to the relaxed fit shorts (reminicent of a pair of mini slacks) and the thigh high boot as seen in the Chloe collection.
Hats/Headgear
Don’t let your head go bare this fall/winter! Stay warm AND fabulous with a stylish beret, hat, or other stylish head adornments (also seen above).
